Gazunheit! What is Wholesale? And can you as an individual really purchase diamonds wholesale? To answer these questions, we first need to determine which "Wholesale" you're referring to:

"Wholesale to the Public" as mis-used by some retailers and many internet sites.

"Wholesale" as in "All Diamonds Priced 10% Below N.Y. Wholesale"

"Wholesale Prices... All Merchandise 50% - 70% Off Retail"

"Wholesale to the trade"

Low Wholesale... High Wholesale... Direct Wholesale... Import / Export Wholesale...

Not Wholesale, as in Retail / Wholesale.
"Wholesale" is the most abused and misused buzz word in the diamond industry. After 18 years in the jewelry business, living and breathing diamonds every day, we still don't know what it means - heavy on the sarcasm... There must be 47 levels of wholesale and we've determined that most of those are retail.
Speaking of retail, you deserve to pay full retail if you're foolish enough to believe that a legitimate diamond wholesaler is going to risk losing his high-volume, low maintenance, true wholesale clientele just for the privilege of answering your questions and possibly selling you a diamond (as in one, uno, a single, one time only sale)... And if you don't think he would lose his retail store accounts by selling you a diamond, just ask your local retailer what he would do if he found out that his supplier was selling to the public... The wholesaler would get BLASTED right out of business before he could stutter "let me explain".
The cold, hard reality is that as an individual, non-registered member of the jewelry trade, you will not be able to purchase a diamond at wholesale. It is possible however to pay a price that is close to wholesale and that's what we're all about... We are:

And as diamond brokers we walk along the thin line between the worlds of wholesale and retail... Our prices are low enough to make you think we're wholesale in comparison to the prices being offered by many local retailers... But we're not really wholesale, we simply put less profit on the diamonds that we sell than most retailers are willing to surrender them for. The important thing to realize here is that...
Quality does not have to be expensive.
Many retail jewelers tell their customers that diamond brokers only appear to have better prices, but in reality sell mediocre diamonds to unsuspecting consumes for exactly what they are worth in the retail market... Understand that we only sell the finest cut diamonds available... We are not a clearinghouse for crap... We hand select the diamonds that we sell from various sources world wide and sell them for a minimal and disclosed brokers fee. The prices that we pay for the diamonds that we sell fluctuates depending on the quantity purchased and the terms negotiated with our suppliers. Moving pedigreed puppies quickly from "A" to "B" enables us to maintain a high volume that entitles us to significant discounts from our suppliers which we gladly pass on to our customers. We wouldn't refer to ourselves as "Wholesale" but our prices are significantly better than what you'll find at most retail establishments.
