"Are You In The Trade?"

Seems to be the most common question that jewelers ask the netites who have studied our site and armed themselves with their very own 10x Diamond Grading Loupe... You appear to be proficient in the use of a loupe and ask all the right questions... You tell us that there is nothing like the feeling of power that comes with hearing that statement and that jewelers treat you completely different after you produce your own loupe... We hear that prices get better, grading becomes more accurate, and you're no longer treated like just another customer.

That's not the original reason we began to sell diamond grading loupes on our web site, but it's enough for us to continue... We originally offered loupes and diamond grading tools to the public because we heard numerous horror stories about how some jewelers never seem to have a loupe available when you needed one... Others only seemed to have 6x or 7x loupes available for public use which is a shame considering industry standard is 10x... We thought that this practice was unacceptable and that you deserved a fighting chance to experience the wondrous world that can be found within a diamond...

In addition, we feel that the best way for you to feel good about leaving your diamond jewelry with your local jeweler for repair and cleaning is for you to become familiar with the internal characteristics of your diamond so that you can identify it easily.  With a little practice you will learn that using a loupe is quite easy... You will learn to focus upon the internal characteristics of your diamond and identify it with ease... All you really need is the opportunity and the tools to do so... You will no longer have to be nervous about whether somebody is going to switch stones on you... We offer a variety of quality diamond grading loupes in various price ranges and will be happy to assist you with the selection of one that fits your needs.

For most people, we suggest our middle of the line basic 10x Triplet Diamond Grading Loupe... It's easy to use, offers a nice field of vision, and costs only $19.95 plus shipping... The primary difference between the three loupes pictured below is the crispness of the image and the speed in which the diamond will come into focus... If you grade diamonds all day long, spend a few dollars more and buy the Bausch & Lomb, it's what we use here in the office... If you're budget conscience and are only going to use a diamond grading loupe every once in awhile, buy the economy 10x Triplex loupe it will do the job just fine... Additional descriptions of each model are provided below:

Bausch & Lomb 10x Grading Loupe: The professionals choice! Triplet lens system for correcting spherical and chromatic aberration. Eliminates color degradation and puts every part of the wide field of view in sharp focus. One of the most highly corrected magnifiers available and in short the best loupe we know of.  Note that the item shipped may appear slightly different than the photograph although the characteristics will be the same.

$75.00 Plus S&H*

Standard 10x Triplex Loupe:
A great loupe for the occasional user who is only going to look at a diamond once and awhile... Perfect for checking your prongs and getting to know your diamond better... We sell a TON of these puppies.  Note that the item shipped may appear slightly different than the photograph although the characteristics will be the same.

$19.95 Plus S&H*

Locking Diamond Tweezers:
The safest and best way to view an unmounted diamond!  Slide lock diamond tweezers with medium points and silver finish for optimum diamond visibility.  Yes, we know the picture is black, but we prefer the silver ones because the mechanisms slide better.

Locking Tweezers $15.00 Plus S&H*

Diamond Grippers:  These handy little guys are a fantastic way to view a round brilliant cut diamond... Just lay the diamond on it's table, depress the lever, and four wire prongs extend from the tube to hold the diamond...

$5.00 Plus S&H*

Selvyt Diamond Polishing Cloth: This special, English made no-lint polishing cloth is better than chamois. It is the industry standard for cleaning and polishing diamonds before grading! You can even use it to polish other delicate surfaces without scratching, e.g. metals, optical glass, cutlery, records, plastics, etc.

$2.50 Plus S& H*

Each cloth measures approximately 5" x 5" & is available only with purchase of any other item on this page.
